Kathryn Tremblay, General Manager
altisHR team member since 3/1/89

Kathryn came to the HR field early, as a teenager working summers for a staffing firm. She loved it from the start. Here was an industry all about people—on the one side, professionals seeking interesting work; on the other, employers with needs to be met. The challenge of bringing the right parties together, of solving problems and getting things done, fired up Kathryn’s passion for the staffing industry—and it’s burned strongly ever since.

Already a seasoned professional by the age of 21, she had a clear vision of what was required to make a staffing firm truly excel—a vision shared by her then-colleague Toni Guimaraes. And so the two of them struck out together and founded excelHR.

For Kathryn, personal relationships are essential to success. Technology is a great enabler, but nothing can replace the value of in-person meetings and genuine conversations. She has also come to realize that success and happiness—at work and outside of it—come not from single, monumental decisions, but rather from the succession of small choices people make every day. It’s an observation she passes on to career professionals all the time: to consider every moment a moment of opportunity.

Off-hours, Kathryn concentrates her energies on family, fitness and travel; someday, she would like to help young women start their own businesses, just as she once did.
